I Know Its Summer When...

... My face is so shiny Matt uses it as a rearview mirror.

… My dad gets all excited and starts buying random stuff for the beach house, like volleyball nets and colorful picnic baskets.

… We ignore all warnings of strong amihan (northeast winds) and head out to the beach anyway. We are all so traumatized by the scary boat ride home that we swear to take the weather news from our caretaker more seriously.

… We find random excuses to go to the beach. In this case, our best man Basti was in town and needed a tan. Badly.

… I cannot fight the urge to stock up on Spanish white wine and Homenaje Rosado (the ones that Noel DID NOT buy).

Foxychef finds new and inventive ways of keeping our tummies bulging over our boardshorts. Like, when we bought a sack of clams from a local fisherman and she decided to cook some of it in tons of butter and cheese. And, yes, it was good.

… Happy hour starts at 9 in the morning.

… Matt gets his annual Zit-on-the-Forehead.

… Everyone is in a good mood and finds humor in everything.

… I’m too lazy to do anything and use shortcuts to perform tasks. Hence, this list.

That's Miguel, not me. Unless I'm with friends, I open only one bottle at a time; Mig's minimum is two. These tisoys are masyadong mahilig sa alak,

Tsk, tsk.

Hoy, Noel! Don't blame Miguel just because he's on vacation and his laptop is at home.:-)

But, yeah, the tisoys can really drink. Even some of my parents' *ehem* older friends still drink their wine like they're 25, despite the maintenance meds. Hehe.

hahaha... just got back and reading all this....

Rosado is the perfect wine for the beach - or a good Sangria...

He's not (wasn't) on vacation. Believe it or not, if you've visited his FB page lately, he's been eating at all those nice restaurants while on a business trip.

I mean - in just one day, for example, breakfast at Keller's Bouchon, lunch at Puck's Spago and dinner at Boulud's Brasserie. Abusado!

Welcome back Miguel! Hehe you caught me and Noel making chismis about you. Actually, we're just jealous... If that LV trip was for business, then I would love to work for you! Kahit PA! Hahaha!:-)

Noel- Yeah, I saw on facebook nga that he was "cramming" so had to eat at all those restaurants in one day. Hahaha!

Bouchon's great! My cousin and I ate there during a "business" trip and we shared this tub of foie gras terrine, steak frites and roast chicken. empacho! Good thing we went dancing after...

Yes, Definitely, I love Bouchon, but I went to the original one in Yountville, Ca. Had a great long wine lunch there after hitting some wineries in Napa with the Doc, our wives and another couple (the hosts of our Alabang Group dinners in my blog).

Pity I was just able to hit Bouchon for Breakfast - but it was well worth it....

Hey Mig! Breakfast at Bouchon is famous ha, so don't even think about feeling sorry for yourself. Hehe.

Noel - hahaha..its just that the lunch in Spago wasnt great...I would have preferred to have breakfast in Bouchon, then lunch again in Bouchon - but they are closed for lunch...
