Grabe noh, where can you find a meal for P5 nowadays?:-) I was kinda hungry so the portion was a bit bitin, but if I doubled it I think that would have been just right. If you find yourself in that area, you really should try it (if you don't mind eating standing up on the side of the road). You actually might have ten orders! And then using vinegar as seasoning instead of kalamansi... Its really different and so good.:-) If you won't be going to Lucban or Tayabas anytime soon, check out Buddy's at Kalayaan Ave. (near San Miguel Village) where they serve really good Pancit Lucban (aka habhab). I know that education is important (even though cooking is hardly rocket science) but it also takes a lot more than that to make a great cook, as I'm sure you know. I just find it funny how loosely some people throw around credentials and they immediately expect to be dubbed as culinary gods. I, for one, know that I could spend years in some Swiss culinary school and never become a three-star chef.

That's why I just work on my eating skills.;-) Hehe.

Sige, I'll read your review now...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07281828415245524835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4238846253797543690.post-8365502080715231032008-12-12T23:01:00.000+08:002008-12-12T23:01:00.000+08:00Boyet’s excellent Pancit Habhab is proof that you ...Boyet’s excellent Pancit Habhab is proof that you do not need a diploma from the Culinary Institute of America or pricey, imported ingredients to turn out great-tasting food.

Definitely, and, funny you chose to use the CIA. I had a long lunch at the Greystone in St. Helena in May 2001 (2-6pm) with some friends. We had the works, all their specialties, and many, many bottles of wine (prudently, I hired a car and driver for the day, so we could all drink as much as we wanted). The food was so-so, honestly, and the service, though quite competent, was hardly polished.

Check out what I wrote many years ago: http://www1.epinions.com/review/Wine_Spectator_Greystone_Restaurant_44828788/content_86418361988

Best,

NNoelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00877156455140431162noreply@blogger.com
